Highlights of my CV
2024-present
Postdoctoral research
I am a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Toronto Scarborough with Dr. Cosima Porteus, in collarboration with Dr. David Huyben at the University of Guleph.
My research focuses on the impact of CO2 on lake white fish.
2016 - 2022
Ph.D. Research
My Ph.D. research was conducted at the University of Manitoba
Dr. W. Gary Anderson's.
My research focused on how nitrogen (ammonia and urea) moves across the intestinal tissues of marine elasmobranchs (sharks, skates and rays), and how it relates to their ability to live in a salty, marine environment (osmoregulation).
2013 - 2016
Marine mammal observer
I worked on several projects for the oil and gas industry in the North Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. I am a certified Marine Mammal Observer, Passive Acoustic Monitoring Operator, Protected Species Observer, and a Canadian Wildlife Services Bird Observer and Handler. My roles were to mitigate the actions of seismic operations on endemic marine life, and quantify animal occurrences in the area.
