Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre
My Ph.D. field site is in Bamfield, B.C. This spectacular research station is surrounded by beautiful ocean views and west coast wildlife. It's close proximity to the Trevor chanel allows for live capture and housing of spiny dogfish and collaboration with world-class researchers.
Bermuda Aquarium, Museum, and Zoo
During my undergraduate co-op degree I was awarded a scholarship to intern at the National Aquarium in Bermuda. As an aquarist I was responsible for feeding and cleaning 26 tanks that housed marine species endemic to Bermuda, as well as participating in the training and feeding of five resident harbour seals. I also spent countless hours diving in the 140,000 L North Rock tank for cleaning and maintenance of the tank.
